Weider Purchases History Magazines From Primedia

As the website editor for Armchair General magazine, I can only say that Eric Weider’s passion for history is very palpable in everything he does here, and I expect that same enthusiasm to make this fine stable of magazines even better. 2006 should be a very interesting year for all of us.

Feb. 28, 2006 - Weider History Group announced today the purchase of Primedia’s military history and American social history magazines and related web sites, including American History, Military History, World War II, Wild West, Civil War Times, America’s Civil War, MHQ, British Heritage, Vietnam and Aviation History, plus Historynet.com.

Eric Weider, CEO and President, Weider History Group, made the announcement, stating that, "Our company is committed to enhance and grow these fine titles, which are already leaders in the history magazine category. Research proves there is a renewed interest in our history and heritage. The content and mission of these magazines could not be more relevant and timely.
