SKS collectors had a number to choose from in this collection of Chinese made models.

Despite rising gas prices dealers and collectors came from far and wide, and while the economy still remains an issue for many, money was flowing February 23–26, 2012 at the Show of Shows (SOS) in Louisville, Kentucky, the largest military collectibles show in North America. With more than 1,600 tables, dealers from England, Russia and across the United States there was really something for anyone with an interest in militaria.

The plethora of antique themed TV shows brought in a new crowd of enthusiasts while many advanced collectors returned looking to add pieces to their collections. Prices on many quality items are up, suggesting that despite the weak economy business of military antiques is booming. Vietnam War and Iraqi items were seen at this year’s show, but World War II militaria remained the dominant items. It all made it truly a show of shows!
