Thanks For Oradour Photos Published Saturday, September 10, 2005 | Print | E-mail Dear Sir: I just finished carefully going through your tremendous pictures. I only discovered the Armchair General site today and thankfully stumbled across your greatly appreciated efforts. Over 30 plus years ago I read the horrific story of Oradour and how the French had created the living museum in a Readers Digest magazine. From that moment on, I promised myself that someday I would walk those streets and learn all I could about the history. Due to becoming totally disabled, those dreams along with many others now only become reality through the internet. I want to thank you for taking the time to share your many photos with the world and I look forward to enjoying more of them as well as your clear explanations. Again thank you very much, and I wish you the best of health and happiness. Sincerely, Stacey L. Bowen * * * Dear Stacey, Thank you very much for your kind comments, I appreciate you taking the time out to provide your feedback. Visiting Oradour was a humbling experience for me, and I am glad you enjoyed the piece and my photos. I’m pleased to be of service. In case you are interested, the following link will take you to all of the pieces I have written for the Armchair General website, although only a couple of them are visits like Oradour. http://www.armchairgeneral.com/articles.php?p=2227&page=1 In addition, the second link that follows will take you to the Armchair General Image Gallery where you will find a great many sets of photos, most of them from my various visits. http://www.armchairgeneral.com/pics/ Andrew Summersgill Have a letter for us?
