Tankfest 2006!A J Summersgill | August 16, 2006 | 0 comments | Print | E-mail To round off the day, it was time for a re-enactment battle scene, featuring members of the Second World War Living History Association and some of the vehicles displayed at the TankFest. To begin, we see a retreating line of German troops and vehicles… As the weary troops head to prepared defensive positions, an artillery strike begins. Hurriedly, the Germans prepare their camouflaged 88mm Anti-Tank gun as the first Allied probes appear. Advancing Allied troops assault an outlying bunker and blow it up. But as the bunker explodes, the 88 gun knocks out the Allies’ supporting armour. The escaping crewmembers are ruthlessly gunned down as the 88 is reloaded.
