Background: Shane started beating on his parents in RISK! at the age of 7, and never looked back. Starting off on a diet of Axis & Allies and Scirocco, Shane eventually ended up playing solo games of 3R and D-Day. As a teen, Shane bought a C64 when they first came to Canada, and promptly wasted his youth on games like Battlefront, Storm Across Europe, Colonial Conquest, War in Russia and the like.

A very social person, Shane gravitated towards the local BBS scene, and was soon running one of the largest boards in the city. The coming of the internet has only strengthened this addiction, and Shane has now been involved in running various BBSs, sites and forums for almost 20 years.

Shane has written wargaming reviews and articles for various websites, and has been designing mods and board games for over two decades. The research for such projects has awoken in Shane a passion for military history that finds it’s outlet in gaming, writing, spirited debate, and a deep commitment to the e-community he has been a part of since its inception.
