Bomber Command Roadshow
A talk by those who were there!

Wed 29 Nov 2006 , 7-9pm

Britain was on the back foot from 1940 – late 1942, suffered the blitz at home and defeats in North Africa and the Far East. The only means of taking the fight to the enemy was Bomber Command.

Squadron Leader Tony Iveson DFC a former flight commander with 617 Squadron RAF, heads a small team of WWII flyers who recount their experiences in those hostile night skies over occupied Europe – sixty years ago.

The roadshow is being given in memory of Robin Neillands, who served with 45 Commando RM during National Service. Robin was a prolific writer, travel journalist and military historian, his brilliant book “The Bomber War” was the inspiration for the Roadshow.
