PR: Art Institute Online Division, Logitech and the US Navy Sponsor Premier Game Modification Awards

New York, NY – December 5, 2007 - Independent developers and amateur game designers will finally get their chance to shine at the annual Mod of the Year Awards (MOTY 2007) which runs through Jan. 15, 2008. The event is sponsored by The Art Institute of Pittsburg, Online Division, Logitech and the US Navy.

The MOTY 2007 features re-mastered video games, or “modifications.” Considered the definitive event that showcases the best game mods and indie games in the world, the event recognizes the teams behind them. The MOTY is a tribute to the creativity, dedication and hard work independent developers put into creating unique gaming experiences. Each of the 5,000 entries in Mod DB’s extensive database are voted upon by site staff and community members to determine which mods are worthy of the title “Mod of the Year.”

Mod DB is hosting the event and provides the ideal staging ground for this contest given its history and unrivaled platform for mod developers, game designers and artists to unite in effort to create game modifications, add-ons and independent games.
