Concerning the query about allowing openly homosexuals to serve in the US armed forces I know not nearly enough about either homosexuality or the American Army to have an opinion. Thus I will not offer one.
However, it does not seem impartial that the alternatives in the poll were to say that it would either diminish unit cohension or not affect it or to not have an opinion.
Is it really totally implausible that it would increase unit cohesion? I mean if gays can be open about their sexuality people will have to deal with it one way or another and that might be preferrable to secrecy, gossip, backtalk, accusations and suspicion (which I imagine is very disruptive to unit cohesion).
Until someone convinces me that it is indeed totally implausible that allowing openly homosexual men in the army will increase unit cohesion I will consider this deeply flawed poll.

*a deeply flawed poll or poll deeply flawed, otherwise you are stating that the poll will be in your consideration. : )

re: the poll about the which nation had the greatest affect on…
I think that you forgot to mention some other countries/empires like:
a/ Ottoman Empire
b/ Caliphate (aka Arabs)
b/ Russia
c/ India
The nations you mentioned had the major effect on European history, but you are asking about World History so one has to take the whole globe into consideration.
Thanks, Katia. We have limited space for answers, so the lists can’t be too long. But I’m going to save your suggestions and use them for a poll in the near future.
