Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee on HBO
Armchair General is working with HBO to promote their upcoming film on May 27 (Sunday night).

HBO presents an epic movie event with executive producers Dick Wolf and Tom Thayer, based on Dee Brown's bestseller, BURY MY HEART AT WOUNDED KNEE powerfully explores the tragic impact that the United States' westward expansion had on American Indian culture, and the economic, political and social pressures that motivated it.

Return of the Europe Aflame Interactive Combat Story
After a long hiatus, the EA-ICS has returned. This "story" is being written by members of the ACG community using polls and discussion in the forum, which then is translated into action on the gameboard (using The Operational Art of War scenario called Europe Aflame). This is much the same as the ICS found in the magazine, but is totally open ended as to how it will end. Can the Germans take Moscow? Can they control the Middle East? Will the Allies repeat history and defeat the Axis once and for all? Follow the action here! It started here. Special thanks to Shane Sohnle for kick starting this project.

Armchair General Game News
Here is the latest from the ACG portfolio; Check out our previews of Halo 3, C&C 3: Tiberium Wars (X360), and Combat Mission: Shock Force. We've had several reviews, including Campaign Vicksburg, Making History: The Calm and the Storm and C&C 3: Tiberium Wars for the PC, along with Jutland, War in the North Sea and Baltic 1914-1918 and Epic of the Peloponnesian War reviews for the boardgame side. Our most recent interview was for Carriers at War.

Armchair Military History
We have another bumper crop of articles in our military history department. We have an article by Wild Bill Wilder called The Panzer Graf about a German tank commander. A web version of Combat! called Frozen Encounter. We have our continuing series on Polish History (The Valiant Poles - Pt. 4 by Carlo D'Este). We have museum visits (Duxford Delights), book reviews (Greek and Roman Warfare) and of course our regular features such as Jim Moreno's WebOps (an overview of all things Military History on the web) and The Incorrect Art of War (Dr. Sinister's attempts to understand military history's lessons).

Rear Guard
Oradour sur Glane Revisited
As we looked back in our archives for something interesting to dig up, we happened upon one of our more powerful pieces over the years. This is a photo essay of a French village which was destroyed by the Nazis in World War II. Check it out again, and learn why even the birds don't sing in the deserted French village of Oradour sur Glane.
