30 Kriegsmarine Charts for Sale: Kiwivets.com Fundraiser Steve "the Greek" Statharos, Director of Fundraising and Public Relations for Patrick Bronte’s New Zealand military history website NgaToa, sent ACG this note regarding the last eBay auction for the website:
I am cleaning house and doing my last eBay fundraiser auction for kiwivets.com which is an oral history project run by Patrick Bronte who is paralyzed from the shoulders down. Up for sale is a book that was given by Herman Goring [sic] to a named Luftwaffe officer who was a POW during the battle of Britain, ironically the book is "The Schlieffen Plan" and includes a letter from Goring to the named officer who recieved it. Another item is a uboat grid map of the Baltic Sea. Several German invasion map sets are also up for sale. Also we have 30+ Kriegsmarine charts of places around the world including Europe, Australia and the Middle East. This might be a last opportunity to own one for a reasonable price. I invite everyone to have a look at the items located at the link below.
Please pass this information on to any friends who might be interested or other relevant discussion groups or boards since the money will go to a good cause. Kiwivets.com was already interviewed over 200 WWII veterans. We have 8 more veterans scheduled before Thanksgiving and the money will go to offset travel and transcription expenses.
