July 2012 Mailbag
Dear ACG, Thanks for the small column on the movie Braveheart in your May 2012 Issue. Good to see the record set straight on the historical accuracy of the film. Too many people, including some friends of mine, actually think there was an Irish contingent at the Battle of Falkirk, the Scots wore blue war paint, and they went around in kilts. I have a bachelor’s degree in History this drive me crazy. While I love the film and think it is incredibly entertaining it is not an accurate account of history. P.S. Wouldn’t mind seeing more columns like this in the future on war movies.

Please note your spelling error on page 66 of your May 2012 issue. Israel is incorrect in the title.

Thanks very much for your email to Armchair General. We missed the misspelling when the article came around for a final check before going to the printer (our Art Director retypes all the article titles/headlines when he lays out each article, and we didn’t catch the error until we got our copies of the published issue back in March). You’ll read a "letter to the editor" about this in an upcoming Mailbag department.
Thanks for reading Armchair General! We’re very happy to hear you love the magazine – and that you read it carefully!
