Title: Website Strategy and Games Contributing Editor Hobbies: Gaming (of all forms, tabletop, PC, console, etc), Poker, movies (particularly horror movies) Favorite Movies: Aliens, Reservoir Dogs, Godfather Part I, Dog Soldiers, Fight Club, and too many others to list! Favorite Television: Monk, Firefly (the cancelled one), and any poker on TV Favorite Books: 1984 (Orwell), Fahrenheit 451 (Bradbury), Dune (Herbert) Background: James has been seriously gaming since he was around 7 or 8 when he played his first pen and paper roleplaying game with his Parents and Uncles. When he got his first PC and played Wolfenstein 3D, and later Doom, he realized he couldn’t get away from gaming. Once the first Quake came out, he knew he couldn’t get away from playing very competitive multiplayer games. While he continued to play a wide variety of games over every medium possible, at the end of the day, he usually returned to the PC for a First Person Shooter (and usually for online play).
His extremely competitive attitude in these games helped to hone him for jumping into the Poker craze that’s taken the world by storm in recent years. If he’s not playing a game for review (or if he’s lucky – just for fun) or writing something else for ACG, he’s probably either playing poker or thinking about how to improve his poker game. And very rarely, when he’s not actually doing any of the above, he might actually be working to wrap up his dual degrees in Political Science and Economics to graduate this May.
