iGuerilla – Book Review

By Jerry D. Morelock

iguerilla-book-coveriGuerilla: The New Face of War in the 21st Century by John R. Sutherland (History Publishing Company, 2015). Sutherland, a retired infantry officer and currently a Department of Defense Senior Analyst, broke new ground with his insightful and revealing article on the origin, tactics and operations of today’s global terror groups—“iGuerillas”—published in Armchair General magazine’s May 2008 issue. After several more years of in-depth study and analysis of this increasingly dangerous threat, the author has written a superb book-length examination. ACG highly recommends this “must read” book to all who want to understand the chilling facts behind today’s grim headlines.

Jerry D. Morelock, PhD, Colonel, U.S. Army ret. is the former Editor in Chief of Armchair General magazine. Currently, he is Editor at Large, World History Group (historynet.com). His latest book is “Generals of the Bulge: Leadership in the U.S. Army’s Greatest Battle” (Stackpole Books, March 2015).
