Historicon 2013

By Armchair General

Our Web editor, Gerald Swick, checked out the action at the Historicon 2013 historical miniatures gaming convention in Fredericksburg, Virginia, July 18-21. It was ACG’s first visit to the granddaddy of historical miniatures gaming conventions in North American since Historicon moved from Lancaster, Pa. The new facility is roomy, pretty well air-conditioned (the heat index was 105 outside, but inside was comfortable, once you got away from the entrance), and close to several hotels.

Here are some pictures of some of the games and other activities that were going on.

    • Sorry, Lars, but I don’t remember what the name of that game was. I snapped this photo when I was walking by. The use of squares rather than hexagons for movement makes it unusual; perhaps someone else out there can answer your question.

    • If you do solve it, Lars, please post the answer here for others who may be puzzled. Thanks!
