Gen Con UK 2007A J Summersgill | September 16, 2007 | 0 comments | Print | E-mail Here we see the different types of arrowhead used at the time - some of these were armour piercing, even chain mail could not withstand the bodkin head, narrow, long and sharp, it could impale an enemy soldier and come out the other side without resistance. The second picture below shows standard armour plate of the era riddled with arrow holes. In order to deflect such arrows, shaped armour was developed - much like the T-34 tank in World War II changed the shape of battlefield armoured vehicles. The ropes you see laid out here were one of the main reasons the group was in attendance…but more of that later… Around the corner, swordfighting was being taught to any eager passer-by.
