Hey Zouave, I have a request. Can you find one on famous Black Confederate units? Or maybe Black Confederate units that distinguished themselves? Or how about anything to do with Black Confederate soldiers & their experience in the war?

Now, much can be said about this topic noting from a high level how the Confederacy did not make use of black units and made policies against it until March 1865, but general blanket statements quite often are proven not true do to some outlier event or thing.

How about anything on the 1st Texas Infantry other than your earlier find of Hoods Texas Brigade. Had an Ancestor in Co. K from San Augustine,Tx.
