Fremantle is a must-have for anyone interested in the Gettysburg Campaign. Most of the regimental histories are worth owning too. I can review the rest of the list and see what else hits me.

Nice detective work.

Zouave, when you ask which one we would recommend.....recommend as far as what? Are you looking for a good unit history? Battle? The one we think is the best overall? What exactly is your criteria so I can narrow it down a bit?

Thanks in advance!

I don't have any specific type of book in mind, HB. It could be a memoir, a unit history, a campaign history, etc.

Plain and simple, I'm looking for a good (and informative) read.

Btw, I found two more...

Plain and simple, I'm looking for a good (and informative) read.

Btw, I found two more...

Advance and retreat. Personal experiences in the United States and Confederate States armies (1880) by John Bell Hood

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

History of the Orphan brigade (1898) by Thompson, Edwin Porter

The Sam Watkins book should be a good one.
