Question The Best Tank Killer

We all voted on what we think was the best tank of WWII. Now I'd like to hear from you all in regards to what were and what was the best tank killers or killer. Pick your number one choice and then your runner -ups. Perhaps we can even add some of the lesser known killers as well.

Despite the video, tanks are indeed "armor-plated" underneath. It will take more than a .50cal round to penetrate a Tiger's floor, especially when using ricochets. Rocket-firing aircraft were also not very good at hitting targets as small as vehicles, so armored vehicles could usually survive near misses.

That may be true...But where would you rather be when trying to kill a Tiger tank?

In the turret of an M18 tank destroyer? Under a Bazooka? Or in the cockpit of a Jug?

Well...There might even be e better "catbird seat" for Tiger hunting...behind a 105mm howitzer five miles down the road...

If you're actually trying to kill one, an M18 or bazooka would be more effective.

I was trying to factor my own survival into the equation...

My memory might be failing me...But I seem to recall that US art'y knocked out more German tanks than fighter-bombers, AT guns, bazooka's, TD's or Sherman tanks did.

Attack aircraft were very effective against unarmored targets, so they could affect tanks through, e.g., supply interdiction. Claims of direct armored vehicle destruction, however, have been exaggerated.

Can anyone honestly say what the AFVs were in that video?

AT guns and artillery would be my guesses.

Yes, but only hairy-chested Scotsmen wacked out on Iron Bru would actually dare to get close enough to use one.
