CALL FOR VETERAN PHOTOGRAPHERS
Soldiers' Stories: Photographs by Iraq and Afghanistan War Veterans
Juried Photography Exhibition
Friday, July 10 through August 8, 2009
Washington, DC
Every picture tells a story or so the saying goes. This exhibition will present photographs by soldiers who are serving or who have served in the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. Who better to tell the story than the men and women of our armed forces on the ground?
Works must be of high quality and craftsmanship. Content and subject matter must be taken from your experience in Iraq or Afghanistan--landscapes, people, places, things, comradeship, or works reflecting moods. It may also include, training, deployment, return, and in some cases, recuperation.
Soldier photographers are invited to submit up to three photographic images at the cost of 10.00 for the first submission, and an additional 5.00 for each after that. This is to defray rental of gallery space and administrative costs. Works are to be for sale with a 20% commission fee. 10% will go to a veteran's organization, with remainder to the artist.
