Exclamation What would YOU like to see in the ACG forums?

Here's your opportunity to sound off about what features or forums you, the members, would like to see in here.

Is there an area where we are lacking?

Could we improve on our coverage anywhere at all?

Are there any missing features you would like to see?

I cannot promise that we will be able to implement any of your ideas or thoughts, but we will consider them and I think this will be a useful tool to get any thoughts out into the open.

Over to you.

Dr. S.

Yes. There is a distinct lack of Von Mann family on the Admin Staff....

Let's see..........the joke section says keep it clean for the kiddies sake so I suppose that leaves out lots of photos of well endowed nude women.

How the youth are supposed to learn anything without that vital information baffles me but to each their own.

And no Doc, no lego babes either. No offense to your hobby but somehow that doesn't ring a bell.

Absent that then, carry on as is. Keep up the great work!

I'd like to see a greater presence of Admin on the forums instead of focussing on new, and largely unused, 'features'.

Live coverage of woodchipper executions!

But seriously, I can't think of anything. The website has everything I'm looking for. Well, maybe a chess room for playing other ACG members or maybe one of those online battleship games. That would be fun interaction.

On the part of the magazine I only have one complaint. What happened to the Interactive Combat Stories? I liked those. I know you have one going on the website but that doesn't give me cool photo recreations I can flip through and stories to read when I'm not online.

We've had WWII and Civil War ones, I'd kind of like to see a Korean War one. That war doesn't get the coverage it deserves.

Perhaps a better avatar system which allows more animated features to be used, eye candy really but the scale of what it can presently take seems restrictive!

Or maybe a list of animated avatars in the ACG database that will work in the current format, and not so many yanks again either... the current system is heavily skewed towards American avatars.

You know, it would be nice if the Avatar was bigger. There is a lot of space to use up on the profile area of the posts.

I need an easier way to provide a link to a specific post in a thread, while still showing the entire thread. (Like when you click on "first unread", it takes you to that post directly, but it still shows the rest of the thread.)

As it is, I've managed to tinker with the URL to get it to do what I want... but there should be an easier way. All that I can do easily now is either link to a thread, or an individual post (without the rest of the thread showing up).

Or maybe I just can't figure out how to do it?

More interactivity. Hm?... Some suggestions.
1. A book club. A book is chosen and discussed. Didn't work on Yahoo groups. Would it work here?
2. A topic chosen from a current ACG issue and discussed with a moderator/discussion leader prompting it. Here's the article... Here's some suggested further reading... Here's some questions and topics we may like to discuss...

Howzabout a ban on "greatest tank/plane/pistol/lawnmower etc.. ad naseum" threads? All they do is resurface anew every 60-90 days with the same old debate and nationalistic chest thumping.
