Oh. My. God.
You have paddeled some truly shocking tosh in this thread, but this would have to take the cake. By your logic, there should be nothing on the internet that relates to anything before the mid-90s. Yet, surprisingly, there is. So either show some proof that this happened, or STFU.

My, how edroit, how sage, how philosophically royal like this has made you and your eloquence of debate and rational.
I do know this. I will take the word of a USA Medal of Honor recepient over your ilk any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Now I will show my son what to expect from your part of the world.

Boy, ain't no one ever doubt the word of a Medal of Honor recepient. Obviously you have never been around any military or you would know better than print what you did, shame on you.

Obviously, you cant read...I said i dont trust my own president, and credentials are not what they used to be since you seem to discount the word of other decorated military men simply because you dont like what they said.

The Israeli Navy was feeling a bit left-out in the rout of the Egyptians and that also contributed to a huge mistake.
Michael B. Oren covers the Liberty incident quite well in his book Six Days of War. The magnitude of the Israeli foul-up is almost unimaginable...But I agree with you on this one. There is no evidence that this was anything more sinister than a very tragic series of errors.

TrailBoss...This is one of the very rare occasions when I have to disagree with you.
All of those killed in action on the Liberty were assigned to the Cryptology and Communication center, the area where the torpedo impacted the ship. The NSA lists all of the Liberty's KIA on the National Cryptologic Memorial. Nine crewmen were killed in the initial strafing attack and twenty-five were killed by the torpedo impact and explosion. While over 150 men were wounded, some horribly, by cannon-fire, rockets and napalm...All of the KIA were the result of the initial strafing and torpedo attack...If the Israelis were really trying to silence the Liberty and her crew, a lot more than 34 US sailors would have been killed.
The aircraft that attacked had been diverted from air-to-air and ground attack missions and were ill-equipped to sink a ship. The Motor Torpedo Boats fired their torpedoes prior to seeing the ship's markings. When they realized it not an Egyptian ship, they broke off the attack.
If the Israelis had set out to sink the Liberty, they would have done so.

Trailboss, I have posted this link earlier in this thread:
http://www.nsa.gov/liberty/
Note the large number of documents that were classified "Secret" at the time (1967 and later) but have since been declassified and are now available on the Internet.
