I cant help to think that this is a early 20th century "photoshop" or at least a mock-up, made for propagande purposes. It doesnt look that usefull to me.

Yeah, it doesn't look like it would be stable enough to actually fire. I agree with Pergite it's probably a propaganda prop or mabey a prototype weapon or mabey both like the PzKpfw V. (Not the Panther, the other one.)

I just posted a thread over in WW2 area.

I believe this is one of those projects that US Army was making trying to come up with a better gun then the M5. I believe it is a 90mm but i can't remember its model designation.
