Been "toying" again. Though with computerised wargame. Rather building a system where the player commands rather than controls everything.

Well after 5 years and many attempts I have finally finished my grand design

Basically it is a 24 x 24 board with 36 blocks in various colours per side

Basically two armies in a campaign game

There are 12 'cities' on the board and the action involves taking and holding them

I am happy with the rules now being complete

- the problem now is playtesting

I suppose my biggest worry is not that the game can be 'broken'

- but that it would hold another players attention

Personally I designed it around the principle that it would be something that (as a war gamer of 40+ years) I would enjoy playing

I certainly enjoyed designing it anyway!

I stared my wargame project a few weeks ago. I had not anticipated how difficult it would be and the hours of writing and re-writing. So here is my first draft. I suspect I may be tinkering with it for a good while.

It's called "The War Before Tet" a strategic wargame about the Vietnam War with a companion simulation (Sigma-III) software with run's the rules. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance - Bob
