USMC Reorganization
I was wondering if anyone has any information on the USMC's plan to re-organize. i heard that the 3rd MEF on Okinawa is being dis-established and that the Marine Corps plans to re-establish the 5th & 6th Marine Divisions.
any info on this is appreciated.  |

Where on earth did you hear that? The only reorganization that I've heard of recently is that related to the SOF components.
Several years ago there was a Marine Corps Gazette article proposing dropping the division structure and replacing it with a brigade structure and beefing the amphibious lift to have MEBs afloat instead of MEUs.

I heard that the FSSGs (Force Service Support Groups) were going to be renamed MLGs (Marine Logistics Groups) or something along those lines.

Confirmed. All of the Force Service Support Groups are now designated Marine Logistic Groups.
Do a google search with your favorite number (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th) and you can get their OB.
