Welcome to ACG, svgafarov.

Do you know that the same development team will shortly be releasing a new WW2 combat flight sim, entitled 'Cliffs of Dover'? It will begin around the Battle of Britain (the reason for the title) but my understanding is that it will be expanded to include later battles and other theatres.

How does the TrackIR work? If you move your head to check your six, you would have to look away from the screen, won't you?

How many CDs come in IL-2 Sturmovik 1946? I only have on CD and a DVD, is that correct? I got it form a freind and am not sure if I am missing something. Does it include on the one CD, IL 2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles, IL2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles Ace Expansion Pack, and Pacific Fighters, as it says on the back? Any help would be great!

Ok I don't have Track IR but I understand the movements are exaggerated, that is small head movements cause big movements on screen so you can turn to your six. It can be adjusted in the software as well.

http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/

About the DVD that's correct-I have it-just slid over in my chair to get it-2 disks. One with the game the second with extras. Yes it includes all the previous parts of the series as well as the Pe-2 pack and of course the 1946 experimental and hypothetical planes. Lots of little extras that came with the patches as well. In fact there are several free patches you can get to add to the game that give you more maps and planes.

Get them here (only Il-2 46, 4.08, 4.09, 4.10 and 4.10.1)

Enjoy yourself it's a fantastic game.

Oh and seeing your avatar, no Sabre but you can fly the P-80 and the precursor of the MiG-15 the MiG-9.

If you ever fly online let me know I know a few servers have not flown for ages though.

Thanks for the help, Joea.

I believe I will enjoy myself! I have been playing for sometime.

Which client would you recommend downloading? I am a little dazzled looking at them.

I haven't gotten to downloading the client for playing online yet.

Speaking of the P-80, I found it to do. HAHAHA
