Name This Tank

This is a picture I took of a tank I just discovered in a public park here in St. Louis.
Now, it looks kinda like a Sherman to me but I could be wrong. Anyone?

Based on the barrel, I'm tempted to say it's an Israeli upgrade to the 105mm gun.

I'm not sure of the rest of the profile but I know the turrents had a large counter weight at the back on the Israeli mods.

Which park is that in? I might be tempted to swing by next time I am visiting friends in St. Louis.

Come on guys, it's a Sherman, lets try and be a bit more difficult

No award unless you can identify which plant made it.

The plant in Dearborn, Michigan. The plant foreman was a guy named Joe, and the welding was done by Tony from Chicago.

No, not Dearborn! It was made at the Tank Plant on the Detroit Arsenal in Warren/Centerline MI. I am now about 500 yards from that building it was built in.

It is probably a Korean War/post-Korean war vintage Shermie

Not sure if it's a wet stowage version or not....

Took the liberty of moving this out of "Off-Topic". You can't get much more "On" topic than this!

Correct. It has the horzontal volute spring suspension and the upgraded turret. These are the two visible things that make it identifiable as an M4A3.

Edit: It probably is WWII vintage. I know about 1700 were built in 1942 to 1943. It did have wet stowage.
