No 100th Red October Commemoration?

Just simply, after all the celebrations of the victory of the Red Army in WWII, of course well deserved given the sacrifices and the - pardon my slang - arse kicking given to the Heer why no marking of the events that partly led to that victory?

I've read of the revival of monarchist sentiment in Russia, certainly exaggerated, but the Orthodox Church has reasserted some weight it would seem though I understand many Russians are still atheist.

How is this period shown in Russian (and for that matter other republics) media, film and TV etc.?

Well it was a case of regime change and Vlad aint keen on promoting the kicking out of authoritarian regimes.

There was an official commemoration of the anniversary of the 1941 parade in Moscow (a curious sleight of hand). The day isn't even a holiday in Russia for many years.

Under Kerensky - yes. He banned most public gatherings, restored the death penalty in the army and moved to adopt General Kornilov's demands which were tantamount to imposing martial law. Of course Lenin and then Stalin were worse but I'd still call the latter days of the Provisional Government authoritarian.

Russian television commemorated the event with new 6-episode series - Demon Of Revolution (Russian wiki-link) about Parvus.
While watching it I kept wondering how holders of belligerent passports freely travelled from Switzerland to Denmark and back by rail [i.e. via Germany - how else?] in 1915?

The current regime sees Stalin as their big historical figure, and I guess that they're not interested in celebrating an event where he was subordinate to Lenin.

All great Revolutions devour their own children at some later point. Stalin played a major role in that devouring of the original children/creators/leaders of the Revolution. It tell me much about the Putinist State by the apparent lack of a massive celebration of the Great Russian Revolution of 1917. Those dead children seemingly remain silent in their graves. How can they still be feared by the current Russian power elites???????

Sorry for ruining your party but celebration was in decline from early 90s. It was a communist holiday and communists were in opposition to Yeltsin not to mention other reasons. In 1996 it was renamed " a people's unity day" or something and no official ceremonies were held in post-Soviet period from what I remember.

It is not my History but it seems to be your History. You fail to address the question of why the Putinist State is not celebrating the event to any significant degree. Most in USA celebrate our own reported Revolution. What is the Russian problem or is there a denial of a problem? If a denial, then why a denial?

Can one in Moscow not have a updated evaluation of the said event and present a claimed truthful appraisal for today? Would it be something to celebrate or something to be ashamed of? Why surrender the topic to the current Stalinist cult members. I assume all have a right to inject their interpretations that may present a different view?

Again: it (lack of celebration) started not in a "Putinist State" but a little earlier. Why is another question with no at least several partial versions of answer. Starting with the fact that the modern Russia is a capitalist state par excellence and celebrating socialist revolution is simply out of place.

Russian Federation's Communist Party (what's left of it) doesn't hold any public celebration for October Revolution?

You're confusing apples and oranges. The state that came out of the American Revolution is still here, still going strong. The state that came out of the October Revolution has been gone for a generation now. A whole generation of Russians has come of age having never lived under Communism. I'd think for that reason alone the October Revolution doesn't have the same meaning for today's Russians that it did for earlier, Soviet generations.
