Firefight (Close Combat style game) is now on Steam

Thought you guys might be interested in my real-time WW2 Windows game Firefight which I've totally re-written and now got onto Steam here:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/500190

There's a video on that link if you'd like to see what the in-game action is like too. Please let me know what you think!

Two years ago I bought your game for Ipad and was impressed

How does this game relate to the one I bought?

What sets it apart from Close Combat?

Thanks for buying the iPad version!

I ported the exact code from iOS to Windows and then made some improvements too (like the after action report dialog box that appears). I then added those improvements back into the iOS version, which are all in the current version on the AppStore, so the two games should play identically.

There's no network play in the Windows Steam version at the moment but that is something I want to add.

I may be a bit biased but I think it's a much more realistic and gritty game than Close Combat.

Firefight runs at 60 frames per second so all the trajectories of bullets, shells and shrapnel move at authentic speeds so you can see just how terrifying it must have been, and you can even see the shots ricocheting off objects. I'm not sure if Close Combat models every individual bullet or more a general "this squad is firing at that squad" effect.

I think I've modelled tanks much better too. Watching a Sherman turn on the spot in Close Combat is a bit of a joke! Almost no WW2 tank could turn on the spot and if it did there's a good chance it would throw a track. But it does make the coding much easier for them which I think is lazy. Close Combat tanks seem to lurch forward when they move, whereas Firefight tanks drive along paths and you can even see them change gear, use the steering brake levers and their engine RPM.

So other than graphics there is no difference?

I'm not putting down your product, I am just wondering why I should buy your product instead of the CC expansions I don't already have.

Any chance of screenshots?
