With the sudden rush to war, the armed forces of the Order are well out of-
Gibraltar- A class 7 means a million, or millions. No, nobody has ever stood up to a horde like that.
With most of our assets away from Gib, we will recall the Viking and the Star of India from the Channel area - though Knight-Captain Palmer will act as a military observer as well as a local ambassador if we require an advocate.
With Gibraltar under threat, we will adopt a three tier response.
Both aircraft based at Gibraltar will scout the African coast opposite Gibraltar. How is Ceuta looking? Can we find a secure (or securable) area there or along the African coast nearby that we could evacuate Gibraltar's occupants to until the threat passes? How is Cadiz?
We concentrate all smallcraft in the western Med in Gibraltar's harbour for an evac if this is required. Intensive fishing close to the harbour to help keep us fed while we avoid feeding the dead. I will transfer my flag to Gibraltar while we resolve this; I stand with my people.
Can we see/secure the ferry at Algeciras?
If Ceuta looks thin or clear, we divert eighty men to sweep Ceuta east of the Foso de San Felipe and to fortify both bridges (and prime them to collapse if need be).
races to engage the class 7 at La Cala de Mijas, using sound and low-altitude flight to bait the vanguard into the ocean. Ideally the mindless dead will follow their instincts and feed the sharks.
If this doesn't succeed or succeeds incompletely, the airship will mute, lift off to higher altitude and then engage the horde's inland flank when it reaches Marbella. Less finally but a better chance at diverting them all inland up the El Madronal road to Ronda. Once the lead elements reach Ronda, the valley isn't wide enough for them to turn back and the Brownian motion should ensure they miss Gibraltar.
With the fences and walls repaired over the previous week, we maintain a light perimeter aiming to eliminate any stray zed using spears or other long melee weapons (no shots except as a last resort).
The other 200 men in the area take up positions directly behind the runway with the support weapons (including the blackpowder one). If it comes down to a firefight we aren't fighting the living. We don't assume we can break the Class 7's morale, so we stack plenty of ammunition there and ensure every position has bicycles or personal vehicles to allow a rapid withdrawal to the harbor.
If we're unable to divert the Class 7 at Marbella or earlier and over 20K are still closing on the town we immediately begin evacuating the people of the town to the closest safe location - Ceuta for preference, but anything defensible and close by. The aircraft fuel up and retire to Cap Ferrat.
If we need to, we pull every living creature out of Gibraltar including the final (rapid) military retreat to the harbour. Without the distraction of living people there, Sefarad
should be able to lure the remains of the Class 7 up along the road until Gibraltar is clear and safe to re-occupy.
is to be careful at all times about where they lure Zed.
