This was a good start but we need to do better. I have a small bag of four Red Army Divisions Northeast of Przemysl that is going to die next turn. I need to also try and get around RA 141st ID to the Southeast. The 6th Army has more to do as they did not drive the Red Army units like I wanted. We will continue to drive for Revno and try to create a bag that encloses the Red Army West of Lvov. The RA 45th and 62nd ID will be retreating this next turn. I will try to cut off the RA 62nd ID retreat.

Down South my Romanian's 4th Army should start the next turn trying to get around RA 218th Motor Div. If it fails we will chase it. We will also try to go around the flank of the RA 15th MotD. Up North the Romanian 3rd Army will have the 1st Mountain reinforce the 7th ID. When Czernowitz is less crowded we will attack and take it.

If I can sweet talk Michelle into trying to bag the divisions North of Jassy we could be ready to move on Kishinev soon. I am really hoping that Odessa is unoccupied!

Up North Army Group North should send 18th Army to drive on Liepaja. The trick is to trap the Baltic Military District HQ before it can escape to Riga. It looks like 4th PG can encircle a large group of Red Army units, but they should also send a mobile unit or two North to cut the exit at Riga.

Army Group Center needs to send some mobile units towards Vilnius and get around Red Army 10th HQ. You might consider encircling Bialystok before sending the Siege Artillery there at the last of your turn. Once again you should consider sending a couple of 3rd PG mobile units to cut off the Red Army 4th and 10th HQ units as you bring up 2nd PG from the South. You need to also decide which Army you send down the Rail Line through the Pripyet Marsh. I tried sending the 2nd PG and the 4th Army in different games. You will make better time keeping the 2nd and 3rd PG's North of the Marsh.

Major Senneff a great start for PG 1! We will again attack with the Infantry first and create more opportunity for PG 1. I feel we will take Lvov next turn! With a little luck we will take down that pocket North of Przemsyl!

Thank you Sir.
Under your inspired guidance PG1 was able to perform to the best of its abilities

For the next turn I identify with you as potential targets:
Lvov
the pocket NE of Przemysl
HQ 5 Army
HQ 26 Army.

I am awating your guidance here for PG1
and will come up with suggestions myself after some map study.

I think we will kill the four division Pocket NE of Przemsyl first thing next turn. We will have trouble taking out RA 5th HQ. I can push it but it will keep retreating away until it runs out of men. We will have to decide whether it is worth a try to attack the RA 124th ID or to try and move the RA 87th ID, 41st and 19th Tank Brigades. If we can attack the RA 124th ID twice and move it South we can take the 5th HQ as we will be behind them.

We have a good chance of eliminating the RA 26th HQ, but we will have to cut it off from retreating SE down the rail line! The 9th, 14th Panzer and Wiking are in good position to get behind them. Being Mobile they have more AP to use. After the Pocket is killed we can move the 25th and 16th Motorized Infantry East to keep our lines tight and keep Red Army Units from penetrating our line.

Sir,
In the spirit of Blitzkrieg,
I would suggest that the reducing the pocket NE of Przemysl is best left to 17 Army;
while PG1 is more suited to the other three tasks, the pursuit/capture of:

Lvov
HQ 5 Army
HQ 26 Army.

If agreeable, I would request that, like in the last turn, 17th Army units move first, take over positions currently held by my 57, 111 ID and 25 MotDiv.
These three divs will then be free to rejoin PG1 and contribute to the above three tasks of pursuit and capture of Lvov and/or HQ 5 Army and/or HQ 26 Army.

[EDIT] IMO 2 of these 3 would be most realistic for the capacities of PG1.

I had a post started but lost it.

Major, we can certainly do that. What I want is to kill the pocket and then move several divisions around to attack to the East. I had in mind the 71st ID moving into the 36th Motorized Div hex and the 97th LID moving into the open hex so we can kill the pocket. We will attack the RA 141st ID with the 257th, 262nd and 24th ID and move it back. If we have enough AP we will attack again into the RA Cavalry stack. The 1st and 2nd Slovak ID will then move down the rails and be in position to attack the RA 72nd Mountain Div and push it back into the same hex as the RA 26th HQ stack.

Michelle, we can move some of those RA units away from you in Jassy. Starting up to the North, 2nd Mountain and 6th ID can cooperate with you if you send the 8th and 13th ID against the RA 30th Mountain Div. As we go South, I suggest you use the Romanian 5th and 14th ID to move one hex NE and try to attack the RA 5th Cav. If you can move into that hex, even better. You can use the 76th and 239th ID to attack into the RA 9th Cav/116th ID stack and move them back. You will then have the retreat of the triple RA stack blocked. If you can't attack into the RA 5th Cav, you can always use them to attack into the RA triple stack. Leave the 1st Romanian Armor in Jassy to help attack the RA triple stack with 22nd and 72nd ID.

Further South, how do you want to target the RA units? We can concentrate an attack on the RA 15th Motor Div or try to attack them and the RA 196th ID? Either way my Romanian 21st and 35th Div will be moving NE to try and attack the RA 16th Tank Brigade. The Romanian Border Div will be moving SE to seal off the Southern hex below the RA 15th Motor Div. We can either push back the RA 15th Motor or kill it.

I have already described the Romanian 3rd Army plans elsewhere. I will move the two Romania HQ units back a hex.

The first movement turn or two the Red Army will probably retreat easier than later.

OK, I take command of the 11th German Army. Just to check, the Romanian units attached should be:
1st Armored,
5th, 8th, 13th, 14th Infantry.

My proposal would be to detach the 8th Romanian Infantry to cooperate with the 3rd Romanian Army, moving NE to help in the attack against the enemy 30th Mountain.
14th and 5th Infantry should implement Pruitt's suggestion, moving NE and then attacking the 5th Soviet Cavalry in the woods.
13th should move SE and then cooperate in the attack on the three enemy units N of Jassy.
The main part of said attack should be done by the German 22nd and 72nd Infantry, and by the 1st Romanian Armored.
76th and 239th Infantry should instead attack NE along the rail line, flanked by 170th Infantry.
50th and 198th should make a concentric attack on the enemy 15th Motorized, if possible supported by the Romanian Border; I'd ask the nearest units of the 4th Romanian Army, or possibly one of them, to advance NE to help in the envelopment.

A variant might be that we don't attack the enemy concentration N of Jassy (44th and 47th Tank, 150th Rifle) straight away. We can cordon it off on the near side with the 13th Romanian Infantry (moving SE), the 72nd German Infantry (in place) and the 22nd German Infantry (moving SE), while the 5th and 14th Romanian infantry operate as above, and our Jassy stack attacks all together along the rail line (NE), smashing (I hope) the enemy 9th Cavalry and 116th Rifle. The enemy stack would thus remain intact, but with higher chances of being surrounded, while the enemy units on the rail line have higher chances of being defeated.

The overall result should be that we start prying open a breach between Cernauti and Jassy, another one between Jassy and the Danube, and hopefully that we also pocket, or start to pocket, mobile/armored enemy assets.

---

Edit: I joined the social group AGS and I'll continue discussing options there with Pruitt and Maj. Sennef.

Sorry for the long delay in getting back to everyone.

Last week I seriously hurt my right hand, and it's kept me away from computers. It shouldn't be permanent, but it's still painful and awkward to use a computer.

I'll post more later. Going to the doctor this afternoon - and getting some more delicious painkillers.

Delicious, delicious painkillers.
