Oh FFS not this nonsense again.
Look, you can believe whatever you want from whomever you want. The fact is that Swedes are probably the most interventionist and indoctrinated society in Europe. Not in small part due to overwhelming media brainwashing in the recent decades. One day, when your economy and society start imploding, you might realise it. I am not interested in going over all those embarassing and outrageous moments of Western media in relation to Ukrainian events.
This outrage over Russian media is ridiculous, because you never had the desire or ability to experience the "objective truth" and "impartial reporting" of CNN, BBC etc., later joined by Al-Jazeera etc. Creating foreign language subsidiaries is an old trick, and RT bothers you lot because Russians finally cought up with dishonesty and subterfuge.
But really, the best part of all this talk is the fact that people seem to be genuinely angry and nervous over the fact that Russians intervened and fought against groups and coup with a completely open agenda of killing and assimilating ethnic Russians, rising to power with completely public foreign support and backing, on an anti-Russian platform.
What, were they supposed to roll over and accept their fate? Acknowledge the unipolar world, Cold War victors and hegemons?
The Bolshevik indoctrination, political engineering and nation-building projects might have crippled the Russians, and had there been less greed and arrogance in the 90s, the liberalism and social relativism coupled with "market reforms" would have delivered Russian society on a platter.
Poverty, naivety, opportunistic individuals as a basis for fifth column, inferiority complex and lack of patriotism/national pride, all hallmarks of former Socialist countries, would have worked in Russia like they have worked everywhere else in Slavic countries. The fact that there was an obvious shortage of volunteers and lack of fighting spirit among Russians demonstrates my points. Not being able to muster at least 100 000 people to fight against an existential threat, from a 100+ million nation in several countries. Most of them would probably "want to mind their own business", speak of a "distant land" and "events unrelated to their lives".
