It's been that way for a very long time. Such terms are used very often for political purposes because they're so easy to subjectively twist and carry with them strong emotional baggage that allows one to easily paint any desired group in a negative light.

The same goes for Nazi, Communist, etc. - they're loaded terms which are more frequently used for their rhetorical impact than an objective description of a group or individual.

That goes doubly for when the terms are used by official channels. And when newspapers start using those terms more often than more accurate and neutral language, it's best to start looking elsewhere.

Those stories are spread by provocateurs of the tin-hat variety.

There was an unsafe work climate in the cockpit, the captain failed to exercise the leadership expected of him.

Also, I understand that while the crew was certified to operate that aircraft type, their proficiency was lower because they didn't fly sufficient missions per month. Those people should have been in a simulator or something, to maintain proficiency.

Except in this case the leader of the pack is Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the strong-man and leader of the Law and Justice Part who recently formed Poland's government.

We can expect the tin-foil stuff to be as good as Polish government policy on his watch...

It's my understanding they're currently attempting to whitewash the anti-semetic sentiment which existed in certain sectors of the populace in Poland during the war and how this both directly and indirectly contributed to the Holocaust.

So what? Just another idiot national leader, like the imbecile Obama of USA. Every classmate he went to law school with achieved success in the profession except Obama.

Smart people don't get into politics. Smart people reach the top of their profession--law, banking, business, etc.

Standards for entering politics have reached rock bottom nowadays.

Idiot Kaczynski is the voice of Poland like Obama the cretin is the voice of America.

Meanwhile the rubber bomb is still bouncing: Polish defense minister says the governmental report on 2010 Smolensk air crush was falsified.

Looks like a story of Poland's interfactional political struggle.

There's a conspiracy theory that's quite popular here in some circles that this disaster was actually an assasination of Polish president. Who did it? Those who believe in this conspiracy theory can't agree - whether it's Russians or previous Polish government which they hate. Just like 9/11 conspiracy theorists can't agree who "did" 9/11 - Jews, or CIA, or aliens.

Polish society is currently highly polarized, probably more than ever before in last 25 years. For 8 last years Poland was ruled by quasiliberal PO, but during these 8 years they slightly burned out (and lost the most charismatic leader - Donald Tusk, who became President of the European Council). During last elections conservative opposition won a smashing victory - supported mostly by uneducated, poor, elderly and devout people. And since then... well, let's say it's a disaster.

The guy responsible for this statement is Antoni Macierewicz - and he's one of the most controversial figures here (like Zhyrinovsky in Russia or Trump in US). His supporters say he's working to find the truth about 2010 air crash while his opponents (and actually almost all people I know) think he's simply crazy. He spent last few years trying to convince people that this disaster looked completely different than official report says (official Polish independent commitee investigated that crash and concluded that it was a result of pilot's error and Russians had nothing to do with it). His statements were always debunked by specialists, but their electorate (elderly, poorly educated etc) do not listen to the voice of reason.

Unfortunately people gave them power to rule for the next 4 years (I personally hope they won't last that much) so you may expect more ridiculous statements coming from him.

The Romans killed Jesus... Rome was their capital city... Moscow was declared the third Rome... Moscow is the capital of Russia...

Except the US system is so wound up in itself, tripping itself up, WHO is actually president never matters all that much. And least of all in US foreign policy.

The way the Law and Order Party is going about things in Poland however, expect it to actually matter.
