No, I would never do that or expect anyone else to do that. Its not the child soldiers that I believe should be killed but the barbaric beasts forcing them to become soldiers.

The Nigerian Government has admitted that it has lost track of the girls - I wonder if the US or the Brits. will do better? I am not holding my breath. They may find out about a handful, but I suspect, most regrettably, that most of them are lost to civilisation by now.

It took the world long enough to find a jet liner in the sea - what're the odds of finding 200 individuals, in a country full of 'em, none of who has a black-box, under a canopy of rainforest by a half-arsed attempt? I suppose 'HUMINT' sources could crop up something more useful but I'm not optimistic.

The trail is to cold. If nigeria had responded with a man hunt fast enough they could have found a lot of them. But know I doubt they together. They could now be literaily any where in the world. What the golden hour for kidnapings again 24 or 48 hours.

"A suicide blast in a street full of bars and restaurants in the northern Nigerian city of Kano has killed four people, police say.

One of those killed was a girl aged 12, they say.

Witnesses say the explosion was caused by a bomb in a car in the mainly Christian area of Sabon Gari."

This is one truly fubar'd situation with child soldiers and all...

The real solution is to go after the people funding them and terminate them.
Obviously shooting someone, of any age, who is an active threat is understandable. However, by adopting a no prisoners rule you do several things - they will fighter harder, because they have no option. Secondly you show the undecided that you are what they have made you out to be. Also you lose any intelligence that you might have otherwise got. You also turn your own people into murderers.

"Boko Haram has dropped demands for the release of top commanders in talks with the Nigerian government and is prepared to start releasing up to half its kidnapped schoolgirls in coming days, sources close to the group have said.

Details of the offer emerged as officials investigated reports that Boko Haram was responsible for the kidnapping of up to 10 Chinese workers in neighbouring Cameroon, where the group now also has a presence. "

Boko Haram: African leaders agree joint action in rare show of unity
Nigeria, Cameroon, Niger, Chad and Benin pledge to cooperate against militant group that has kidnapped 200 schoolgirls

African leaders at a summit in Paris have agreed on a regional plan of action to combat Boko Haram, the Islamist group that has abducted more than 200 girls and threatened to sell them into slavery.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/201...ia-schoolgirls

Can but hope it leads to something constructive. It seems as if Boko Haram are moving into other countries - Cameroon being mentioned with Chinese workers possibly being kidnapped.

BH has resources and access to training and transnational terrorist assistance that the local Nigerian groups previous did not appear to have. Getting rid of BH certainly won't solve Nigeria's other problems but it will at least bring the terror threat level down to something that the less-than-capable Nigerian government forces have better odds of combating.

"Haruna's colleagues including a pregnant mother were among at least 118 killed and 56 injured after back-to-back blasts tore through the busy Terminus area late on Tuesday afternoon. Rescue workers said the death toll is likely to climb. The attacks on the teeming metropolis took place as at least 30 were killed by gunmen in remote north-eastern villages."

http://www.theguardian.com/world/201...mbs-boko-haram

The Islamist group Boko Haram has been accused of killing at least 27 people in attacks on two villages in north-east Nigeria, close to where hundreds of schoolgirls were seized.

Perhaps France or the UK should do a rerun of Mali's liberation. It took them no time to get rid of those guys and now Mali is pretty calm. As Nigeria was a former British colony, and they have the means to recce the region, let the SAS and SBS give it a shot, perhaps some reinforcements from RM's and Paras...

Possibly, but why do I have to pay for this? They wanted independence; they can exercise it. There were no calls from Congress for the Household Cavalry to beat up Sitting Bull.

It's analogous - the US gained independence, faced a security threat from the aboriginal red man, yet didn't expect British forces to sort it out; likewise, Nigeria gained independence and faces a security threat in the form of Boko Haram, so why send the SAS?
