I'd like to see this sort of thing in the "limited Edition Military Art" Prints of the Don Triorani etc type. It might be real but it wouldn't sell very well.......

p.s sorry to Pick on Don, I hear he is an outstanding fellow in his own way, it's just that he is the only Historical Military artist whose name I can remember.

Challenge to the Military art enthusiasts, find me a modern commercially sold art print with something Horrible in it.

I grabbed the following image "Shoot and be Damned" by Keith Rocco, about the Battle of Fort Gregg, 1865, from the favourite ACW Pictures thread. These pics are impressive in their detail, but I would charge that they are advertising, not art, and they advertise the idea of clean and honourable war. If they were about telling the real truth, the truth that people cannot handle and throughout the history of art have not wanted to see, then these pictures would show blood and horror, as much as a veteran would have seen.
