I fondly remember those PT runs after a weekend of libo....or especially right before a 96. Half the platoon would smell like a brewery.....the other half like a distillery. Yes we were hung over like none other, or probably still drunk. But we still got everything done before we left, and we still left on time.

Instituting this policy is doing nothing but ensuring that Marines will Binge Drink right after they get tested, because they'll be frightened to drink like normal otherwise.
I'm not military, but I do know how tests work. If you are off for a certain amount of time like a weekend, drink all you want Friday through Saturday and maybe even up to early evening Sunday. It is not so difficult to understand that an employer don't want you showing up to work Monday morning still drunk. And as far as the immediate binge drinking immediately after a test, think again.............they can test you on back to back days........that is how they catch a lot of pot-smokers at civil airline companies that have zero-tolerance policies. You'll be amazed at the number or morons that have a celebratory joint immediately after a test.

I am soo happy to be out of the Suck. Were I 18 today, I wouldn't even consider enlisting. The thought would simply never cross my mind.

OMG, if I had a dime for every time that we set sail with three quarters of the watch team still hammered from the night before I would have a pretty good chunk of cash; the only truly sober folks were the one's who duty the prior to underway.
