OPERATION SEALION - STOP AND READ BEFORE YOU PROCEED

Greetings!

If you have arrived in the Alt History Forum wiith a new Sealion scenario racing about your cranium please stop where you are and read through some of these threads. This topic seems to a perennial favourite of the what if crowd and is an interesting topic. However, the topic has been flogged to death, the bare bones exposed and those bones beaten into powder. The topic has been plumbed to its depths and the threads below describe not only the rather remarkable German achievement in gathering the forces for an invasion but also the nature of the challenges the Germans faced from the British defences, land, sea and air.

If, after reviewing the threads below, you still think you have something original, please proceed. However, if you insist on posting a thread that simply repeating the same old arguments you may find it abruptly ended to spare all concerned another futile review of the facts.

Cheers.

For very long and laborious review of Sealion and its possibilities see (also known as “The Thread That Shall Not Be Named – TTTSNBN). Very long but has some excellent information:

For a discussion begun by Leandros and an intended simulation of naval aspects see:

http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forum...ealion&page=15

For a Sealion debate base on Leandros’ book see:

http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forum...hlight=Sealion

For a an S-Boat attack on Folkstone in July see:

http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forum...hlight=Sealion

A thread on “what if Germany concentrated on Britain alone":

There are others but they repeat what is already repeated in each of the above, so,.....
