It would still be the Army. I had served in the Infantry and Artillery but wouldn't have minded serving in the Tankies for a bit.

I would still join the Air Force.
Rather a Five-Star hotel than a pup tent.

Then of course you could still stay in the Boy Scouts and have a uniform, less the pink panties.

The best chow I ever ate, though, was in a SeaBees' mess hall in the desert at 29 Palms. Absolutely excellent-and they made their own doughnuts!

Sincerely,
M

Given it over again then I'd still go for the Andrew. But a different trade, something on deck rather than tucked away in the radio room boiling from the heat from the sets, sending morse with a bucket clutched between my knees for the vomit. Oh and with a demented chef boiling cabbage in the galley and wafting the fumes through the door.

Fresh air, that's what you need. Seamans branch, maybe mine warfare?

(Glad to see you know the real name of the outfit) But lets just say...I was in a certain regiment, for a little while, did some stuff - no questions asked, you know?

Ask for me in any bar in Hereford - named 'Killer' Jack
The 4th medal on the lower left is the one I got for doing all the stunt work and military advising on the TV show - Ultimate Force.

Best chow I ever had in a Mess Hall was at Base Petawawa. Worked with the notorious 2 Commando... trip courtesy the US Army.
