Don't read s--t into things you know nothing of.
Besides, I would hope you weren't on our list of people doing cyber crimes and sending child porn in Georgia, cause it was surveillance of that. You chose to read it another way.

I'm not concerned. It's only the appearance of impropriety that I'm offended by.

And I love this iPhone. It's awesome.

I haven't accused anybody of anything.

If you're offended, you should blame yourself for posting what you did.

Keep it private if you want to be a secret agent, man.

That is BS, and I am retired and NEVER was a secret agent. It is only people who read things and think oh this is a way to get someone, why this has went so far. I am offended because you love to get a chance to jump on me. I could post it was going to have an earthquake in Oregon at noon tomorrow, and you'd find fault with it. You need to get a life.

Whatever. Get back to snitching.

I mean, get back to your "surveillance" operation.

That's a good thing, Cody. I feel precisely the same way. In fact, I take serious issue when people get to nosey.

And the whole simplistic line about surveillance of ACG is really quite amusing, to say the least. For the most part, everybody that can read anything here could be said to be conducting surveillance here. As well, the few times I have had a private request in the 5 years I have been forums admin (could count such silly arsed requests on one hand) all were declined, not unsurprising, none remain. I know of no court orders, either.

Actually, making fun of it doesn't make it less true or make it go away. The NSA computerized internet surveillance system uses key words as a major factor in their monitoring, and this forum is up to it's proverbial eyeballs in just about "hot button" key word there is, from Atom bombs to Zombies. Then I suspect that some poor low level schmuck whose career is in the toilet gets to read the actual posts and decide if it's the usual digested excretory matter or something of interest to DHS.

So, YES, this forum is monitored officially just like any other place that uses potential terrorist/anarchist/militia watch list terminology in this lovely post 9/11 battlefield we live in. If you think otherwise, you're delusional.

We discussed this a long time ago, Admiral, and I'm frankly surprised that you have forgotten that you agreed.

Enhhh, Mountain Man, I've forgotten nothing.

Reread what I said, it essentially states the obvious.

And it contradicts nothing you said.

It also does not grant said "low level schmuck" access to what I can see...

To do that, such services/entities would require much more than simple passive access all visitors enjoy.

Btw, Google, Bing, Yahoo & a myriad other search engines will grant most anybody 'keyword' surveillance capabilities.

Just because it isn't quite so automated, 'real time' & complex in its application, doesn't change that.

Btw MM, spare me the outrage, I am & have always been against government or other un-Constitutional intrusion into the privacy of citizens.

And you know it already sufficiently well.

The biggest problem that exists in most cases is that people themselves actually post such information in a public places & then suddenly become outraged when somebody else becomes aware of it without all the extraneous technology. 'Oh, somebodies spyin on me!' < 9 times out of 10, the information became public domain when they posted it on the internet in some seemingly 'insignificant' place ASSUMED to be fully private & secure. And simply erasing it does not eliminate historical page searches. The smart thing was that it was NEVER posted/provided by them to begin with.

As for the other personal information provided somewhere by an individual that is posted on the internet by other entities beyond their control, that is another story entirely.

My amusement that people somehow think every word people write openly on the internet is somehow 'private' in a forum or public space of any kind is nothing more than being just as amused with the ignorance of people that think something must be true because it is on the internet.

Don't ascribe any meaning to what I said beyond what I said, my friend, and I will extend to you the same courtesy.
