Yankee,

'70 was a pretty quick WestPac cruise for me. Gunline, Yankee Station, all the normal stuff for a cruise.

'71 was spent in the yards and drydock at Hunters Point followed by ASW, NGFS training, etc.

'72 was another WestPac cruise and the Easter Offensive, Freedom Train and Linebacker I...transferred off Buchanan in Sept, took some leave and drove to Newport to wait for Roan to return from a round the world cruise. Rest of 72 was spent in permanent SP in Newport.

Roan made one trip to NYC for a "Home With Honor" parade at the end of March '73 and returned to Newport. She was still there when I separated in June of '73; pretty shaky shape from that long cruise if I remember right.

Ingraham was long gone from Newport by the time I got to the east coast. Winter in New England was something else for me and I imagine Ingraham sold herself to the Greek Navy to get out of the ice and snow.

Sort of but I read just recently she got too old even for the Greeks and thee towed her out to sea and used her as target practis. I heard there is a new DD with her name . I always rememeber that Ingraham and the Roan did evrything together back in 1970 .
