Exactly....just not sure who is pulling his strings. This would be a major shift if it isn't the French.

One of my best friends from church, Pierre/Noji, is from Chad and he remembers as a youth in the 1970s when a Chadian leader, whose name I don't know, managed a decent balance between helping educate the poor, increasing the economy, and expanding democracy.
He was murdered by a fellow African for acting "too French, too Christian, too capitalist" even though he was more properly a Social Democrat or Christia Democrat in European terms.

This is fairly consistent with what I've encountered from Africans. When I lived overseas I met many and I found them to be extremely narcissistic, often to the point of psychopathy. Not all are that way of course, but I haven't met any so far. I am so far thoroughly unimpressed with their cultures or societies, despite their insistence on its superiority (nevermind that they haven't accomplished anything of note in centuries).

I've been around the third world long enough to know better than to believe the old "they're just a minority" argument. Referring to accomplishments, I was referring to ground breaking and monumental movements that totally revolutionized society. About the only thing in Africa that meets this criteria was the anti-aparteid movement in SA. That does deserve high praise and a lot of credit to the people of South Africa. But aside from that? Nothing.
What the relativists never understood was the reason modern Western cultural values are so different from the rest of the world is because of a series of massive reforms, like the Reformation (separation of church and state), the Enlightenment (the scientific method and the foundation of modern scientific institutions), Women's and Civil rights. Africa is a place that still has witch burnings, where rape and wife beating are common and accepted, and in some areas where albino's are murdered for their "magical" body parts. Maybe some day Africa will catch up to us, that potential is still there. But until it does I won't lower the bar. Too many good people have sacrificed too much over the past 500 or so years for me to put aside all these changes for the sake of "equality".

That post shows a high defree of ignorance. Of course you are american and I doubt they would be nice to you. American are not popular among Africans. Even old SADF folk don't like america. There is somthing called african renciance, NEPAD, SA has a masiv AIDS awarnce and treatment program and a number of other programs.
Is relgion trully seprate from the US goverment. It is in SA no relgion has any control.
Yet the educastion in america is a disgrace (watch "waiting for supperman" a documantry on US school sytem) SA spends one of the highest amount of money per student. We have unvirsty that are ranked among the best in the world.
And in southern America a openly gay coupil is accepted?
There are many places in Africa that are messed up including CAR. But don't assume all of affrica is the same.

The U.N. envoy to the Central African Republic urged the Security Council to consider imposing sanctions on rebels accused of severe rights violations including rape, maiming, recruitment of child soldiers and forced marriages.
Margaret Vogt also told the council that a neutral security force should be deployed to "contain the current state of anarchy" in the mineral-rich state, where the Seleka rebels seized power on March 24, toppling President Francois Bozize.
"The abuses and violations committed by Seleka combatants and other armed elements ... are a source of grave concern for the protection of civilians," she said. "The time is ripe for the council to consider the imposition of individual sanctions against the architects and perpetrators of gross violations."

Reprisals....
Central African Republic — Suspected foreign fighters backing a rebel movement now in control of Central African Republic’s government invaded a remote north-central village and killed six people, residents said.
The assault on the town of Bouca on Friday came just days after other armed fighters took a dozen civilians hostage in another village in the same area, Yaloke. Two people were killed in the violence there
