I've had venison, if we didn't see horses as pets we'd probably eat them anyway.

The horse meat is probaly better tasting than the beef we get in navy. Any case I have eaten many game anmials (both cooked in normal styl and biltong) crocodial(tough but nice) ostriage(really good) and fish biltong and duck. So horse is probaly not that bad if all those oth meats where so nice.

Horsemeat: Chicken nuggets test positive for horse in Greece
23 Mar 2013 | By Julia Glotz
Horse DNA has been found in chicken nuggets in Greece, according to Greek food safety authority EFET.
In an update on its website, published on Friday (22 March), EFET said frozen chicken nuggets made by a Greek company and supplied to a local catering company had tested positive for between 10% and 25% horse DNA. The nuggets were sold in 3kg cardboard boxes and had a best-before date of 7 January 2014.
Four other meat products made by the same company had also tested positive for horse DNA as well as three additional products made by other companies, EFET added.

It's going to take some time before I would consider eating meat products from Europe.

Yeah, the salad is ****ing lethal too; http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddr...ert-warns.html
Buy from your local butcher and you can't go far wrong. I'll be impressed if he can get horsemeat into the beef whilst I watch him cut it.

I can see trying to pass horsemeat for beef....but they found horsemeat in chicken products as well.
