I went looking at ofp.info, pretty dead, no surprise, as well as several other sites, however flashpoint.ru is still up, and the latest addon for ofp was released 15th of april this year!

Anyone played FDF mod?

Yeah, pretty small these days but at least we can still get all those great addons that were released!

Damnit! Project 85, Cold War Reloaded and now this...SLR's, Bren L4's...why can't my computer run ArmA II. I need a new card so I can drown in the glory of these mods.

They also re-did Resistance (but I never played that as a kid), I'm currently stuck at the mission where you're supposed to defend against an armored assault on the former camp.
Damn, I think I'll have to install ArmA 2: Cold War again. Funny, I know have fond memories of that game, even though when I was playing it I hated it's guts for killing me every chance it got.

No shit

Suddenly all the once extremely difficult week long missions (which is basically anything in which I wasn't a simple grunt. Especially the ones in which you command a platoon of Abrams) are fairly simple...

Yeah, I liked the first missions where you play as just another grunt in a rifle platoon. Commanding a tank? It got to a point where I just took control of the gunners seat. Commanding a platoon? In between fuel and ammunition - it's hard enough just getting them to engage the enemy.

Personally, the ones I disliked the most were the Special Ops mission. I was never cut out for playing all that stealth stuff. Stumbled around the map like a bull in a china shop.

I was in the same place as you.
However- replaying the campaign, these are the missions I enjoyed the most (maybe because I never truly played them the first time around).

Aside for the SCUD mission that's damn near impossible...

Yeah, time has a way of turning something from shit to gold...

I know what you mean though, I think I might reinstall it, I got the original OpF when it was rebranded under ArmA: Cold War Assault.Plus, I want to hear the cheesy action commo again. "RifleMAN. Take out that enemy MAN. 500 meters". Priceless.

Also, for a bit of useless trivia, did you know that the guy who voiced Armstrong is Doc Bryan from Generation Kill? He's Israeli, too.

Haha, I remember that one. Drove around in a jeep for ages until I finally found the damn place and Guba. Seemed anti-climatic somehow. And the reunion one, where you get to fly Gastovski's Piper Club. I had to resist the temptation to land vertically like I was Nichols in a Cobra.

Nahhh...I'm talking about the really big mission with the tanks and air support...not the one where you keep him from leaving the island.

Oh yeah, I remember the one you mean. Truth be told, all the post-taking command missions are a blur of frustration, late nights and obsessive hatred for the devs.
