A little jaunt tracing McClellan's Peninsular Campaign
Any good suggestions on points of interest?

Dam #1. Now located in Newport News Park. Still alot of earthworks to be seen on the Rebel side of the river. They are in the wood so a good overview might be hard to see. Only takes about a hour to hike around it. Good picnic grounds as well.

I went to Malvern Hill several months ago. If you are looking for sites that have changed very little this is a must see. The areas where the Confederates staged their assault plus their main path of attack towards the Union guns are as they were the day of the battle.

Glendale is almost unchanged but most of it is privately owned land, making it pretty unique among Civil War battlefields.
As mentioned earlier, Malvern Hill is the best preserved and most accessible of the Seven Days battles. The lone exception is the left side of the Union line where Ransom made his assault; it's heavily wooded now but at the time of the battle was as open as rest of the battlefield.
