Firstly, the advantaged DO NOT gain at the expense of the disadvantaged in a free society.* Nor does gov't cause economic gain.* Gov't impedes economic gain.

Secondly, the only way that gov't can impose some sort of utopian economic "greater good" is to steal from the advantaged on the behalf of the disadvantaged.

If politicians pass laws that put profits/interests of an industry ahead of public safety then in that scenario they should act for the greater good ie. passing reasonable and balanced laws to improve people's safety. Example, buildings are more important than people, it may cost a lot of money to strengthen a building against earthquakes to the point where it no longer kills people, but what price a human life? You can't refuse to have stronger building codes just so building owners and developers can save money.

Wasn't the point of the OP centered around laws that only benefit a certain segment of society while everyone else doesn't get a look in?

At the time, must have been "Greater Good" decisions.

Al Gore tried and failed to steal the 2000 election... Obama has run up more debt in three years than Bush did in eight: but Bush ran up most of his debt in an economy that was actually growinng... And most of Bush's debt was run up by a Democrat-controlled Congress... Congress, including a Democrat-controlled Senate authorized those wars in very bipartisan votes...

None of which is relevant to this thread.

As for the chart, isn't comparing Obama's 3 years with Bush's 8 years a bit misleading? OF course you're going to spend a whole lot more in 8 years than in 3 years. For all we know Obama might spend a lot more in his next 5 (or 1) years in office

This is not a thread knocking any particular country so please don't treat it as such. Please just reply using general terms .

Imaginary revenue in the amount of 1.8 trillion dollars is counted as spending?

No military spending in Iraq and Afghanistan is tallied on the Obama side of the ledger?

That is so easy Crash. Nobody but Janine Garafalo would actually take a graph like that seriously.

It's the other way around. Obama has spent more in 3 years than Bush did in eight.
