With Austria adopting a hard-line stance, it may impel Slovakia and the Czech republic to adopt positions more closely in line with Hungary and Poland.

In 2016, when Kurz as Minister for Foreign Affairs and Integration in the previous coalition government, spearheaded a border crackdown across the Balkans, designed to stem the flow of migrants and this year, he proposed plans to seal off the Mediterranean route to Europe. This should give you idea what Kurz have in mind for EU immigration.

Usually such kind of plan never fail, they are simply not conducted properly. It is always the case when the one submiting the plan is not the one having to implement it.
