A Different Kind of Game

I am just asking - There is a Game on this Site, which has been Running for well over a Year - and it cour Run for a lot longer yet.

It is a Sci Fi Game, and set in the Future - but not what that might imply, or what most people might think.
This is not in any way a "silly" Game - nor is it a "violence" Game.
Rivalry between most of the Players is not a Factor.

A Game which is still growing and developing - still expanding from the Star System of Sol and a few Star Systems nearby - to Colonise other New Star Systems, finding other Intelligent Species along the way.
Some are very like Humans - some are different, one or two are radically different.

The Star Systems which have been Colonised or Discovered, almost all become Members of a Democratic Confederation.
So that these "Dominions" all cooperate, work together, and sometimes Help each other.
Of course, we have Advanced Technologies, including Fast Interstellar Travel.

This Game is truly as BIG as your Imagination - Imaginative but sensible Suggestions from Players are an important contribution to the development of the Game.

There is a WAR Element to it - but it is not the major issue in this Game.
There is an Enemy - an Alien Species which has a Galaxy-wide Empire - and which we are Resisting. We have stopped thier Expansion, and so far they have not managed to prevent our Expansion, or to seriously damage our Planets or Defensive Fleets.
We have been less successful in our Attacks with Offensive Fleets - but we are "tooling up" in a big way. Offensive Actions wil come in the future.
The WAR aspect of this Game is very much a "slow motion" War - which could last many years.

This Game has run for around 22 Months now - during which the Game has moved some 6.5 Years. Some "Game Months" are slower than "Real Time", most are a little faster.

Roles in this Game are very big ones. They are all People, with their own Characters - but very important People. Presidents of Dominions, which may comprise a number of Star Systems, Governors of Star Systems, Commanders ( High Admirals or Admirals ) of Fleets.

We do have some unfilled Roles in this Game - which we mostly get around, but this is not an ideal situation.

So - the Vacancies are -

The Zetan Emperor - this is the Tyrranical Commander of the Alien Empire, against which we are fighting.
This Role has been defined in part by what has happened so far in the Game, and the Player who takes this Role will have to work within established Rules.
Basically, the Zetans cannot destroy us ( although they can cause some damage ) - they have massive numbers of Ships, but limitiations of Logistics, and less developed Technologies.
We cannot destroy the Zetans - there are Waaaay too many of them, uncountable numbers of Planets, and mind-boggling numbers of Zetans.

A Representative for the Todyori Empire - an Empire of "Toad People" who have a Civilisation comparable to Europe in the early 1800's.

A Representative for the "Meerkat People" in a recently discovered Star System, and a Representative for the "Mongoose People" on the same Planet ( who are less advanced ). The most advanced Civilisation of the Meerkats is comparable to "the West" in the 1960's - they have just sent a Rocket to their Moon.

A Representative for some very strange Alien People, on a newly discovered World. These are the last survivors from a Civilisation which has lasted for tens of thousands of Years, or very much longer, we do not know. They breathe Air, but look nothing at all like any creature which we know.
Eventually this may become a Dominion of these strange People - but we may have to help them, with Technologies and perhaps Modified Cloning.

Governors - for a number of Colony Systems.

A Governor - for The N.E.A.P. - The New Eastern and Asian People. The Omicron System. 56 Million Oriental People originally from Earth.
This will definitely become a new Dominion in a few Months.

A President for the IPC. This is a Dominion of bipedal oxygen-breathing Aliens, a lot like Humans - but actually Peoples "rescued" from Slavery under the Zetans.

Fleet Commanders - possibly six of these - for the Confederation Fleets.

A Fleet Commander - For the Attican Dominion.

A Fleet Commander - For the Sol Dominion.

A Fleet Commander - For the IPC Dominion.

A Fleet Commander - For the New Byzantium Dominion.
