Yes, but if you have the luck to encounter a village during the main events and IF in this village there are no Russians or angry peasants

In round 1 there are more cossacks amongst the main events...
In round 2 there is an even amount of cold & cossacks...
In round 3 there are more cold cards....

Villages are always a minority in the Main Event cards!

Food will always be a problem...as it was in 1812

But you are halfway to Smolensk right now...there should be a large amount of supplies gathered there!
