My Imperial Highness why are you still offering fish after all those years?
The Romans are sick and tired of your fisch, fermented or not...
The people of Rome will accept it NO MORE! They want Bread and Games...
In the meantime your loyal followers in the eastern slums whish you a Happy New Year. We look forward to yet another year of prosperity and victory under your rule BUT NO FISH!

Furius of the Slums

Can't wait for the 'Roman' games to continue.
I get enough fish, just send denarii.
Happy New Year!

Indeed My Emperor, a Joyous Celebration of Sol Invictus was had by all. Sadly the fish we received was fresh! not fermented at all and so was returned as being un-edible.
(Welcome to the age of Aquarius btw)

Extra-aged fermented fish shall be sent immediately. In the meantime, bread shall be distributed, and all subjects shall enjoy the chariot races. Once again, The World shall gaze upon and admire The Great Glory that is and always will be The Gift of Rome.
