A Battle of Waterloo Kriegspiel

Here’s a real proper little treat that I found the other day.

It’s an amazing and very brilliant model “Battle of Waterloo”, using Airfix, Esci and various other makers of plastic soldiery. The standard of painting on these “little people” is really very wonderful, and quite impressive, as the accompanying images should hopefully show:

D'Erlon Checked.jpg

La Haye Sainte.jpg

Reille's Assault.jpg

The Allied Army Sheltering.jpg

The French Mass.jpg

Overall View of the battle.jpg

Naturally, there are quite a few more amazing pictures available, as well as an excellently written descriptive text, which I would urge Readers to follow, via the enclosed link:

Go on, prepare to be impressed - I dare you – Ha, Ha!!!!!

Hi,
I'm looking for pictures of a uniform of a general Wuerttemberg from the period around 1810. Need this for making a replica for me. Can someone give me this information, where to find such pictures?
Thanks and regards

Murat as Chef de brigade

I am painting up Murat as a Chef de Brigade.
This is a 28mm Trent Miniatures figure.

Does anyone have any information on his uniform at this time?
I do know he was shown in a 22nd Chasseurs outfit.

Any assistance appreciated.

The second print I located, eventually, in Les Uniformes du Premier Empire - La Maison de l'Empereur.
Disadvantage of old age, memory starts to evaporate
Is the illustrated history on Murat a book one can purchase?

Yes I recognise the packaging for Trent Miniatures

Thanks
Tom

Murat's pair of sideburns is probably the most distinctive facial hair ever.

The second illustration can also be found in Dragons et Guides, on the page facing 129, by the same author.

The Murat by Georges Montorgueil illustrated tome is very rare and will fetch you back around £2,000.

Hello Paul
I think I will miss out on that particular book then.

Question Brunswick Standard Bearers

Amongst my ongoing 'projects' are Brunswick standard bearers.
My question for this learned forum is "were the bearers officers [ensigns] or senior NCO's?"
My research does not seem to have a definitive conclusion to it.
Assistance please.
Thanks
