Correction as got the wrong picture & subsequent wording!!!! taken from website I indicated in earlier post.

30. RIDER NOBILITY SQUADRON
Officer corps in Russia at the beginning of the XIX century were filled mainly graduates of the cadet corps. But to give the army a sufficient number of officers of these corps could not, especially since the constant wars, which involved at that time Russia, has led to great loss of officers.
Various projects to enhance the military education of young noblemen and have remained unimplemented for lack of the state sufficient funds. Military schools were established by voluntary donations of individuals and institutions were considered private. In turn, it was decided that the nobles at least 16 years to second on the body and by passing the appropriate courses were made to the officers. In addition, the nobles and people of other classes have graduated from univsrsitet or corresponding institution could do in the cadets and shelves and a half or two years of service made an officer.
In 1807, "referring to finding many of the troops abroad" to facilitate the receipt of the nobility for military service were established in St. Petersburg Noble Regiment, and with him in 1811 - the squadron. It was a privileged military units and at the same time educational institutions, where gentry, she studied general science and fruntovyh sessions were carried out at the officers. The regiment trained officers for the infantry, the squadron - for the cavalry.
Noble Knights squad for the general form of dragoon had red epaulets, lapels Faldo cuffs and obshlazhnye valves lining and imperial monogram on the blanket. The collar and the valve was obshlazhnym dark green edging. The instrument was yellow metal.

In the second picture you have it listed as a Horse Jager, I have previously seen it described as an Infantry Column Guide. He has Black facings which don't appear on my Horse Jager colour Chart (See attached).

Any thoughts on this?

Your description could well be correct as the google translation came over rather mixed up! I tried a a couple of other Russian to English translation tools but they didn't produce any sensible results either.....

Russian wiki has explanation at http://translate.google.co.uk/transl...26prmd%3Divns:

Kolonnovozhaty - a military term in the Russian Empire . Historically designated conductor, leading a military convoy. Usually kolonnovozhatymi were officers, but sometimes they are civilians, who know the terrain.
